Hello,
i have a problem with the thumbnail generation (FAP Ver. 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 tested):
Example: h**p://***.fantasiewelten.de/Forum/album_cat.php?cat_id=29
Some of the uploaded pictures have thumbnails, others have none and only the picturename is shown.
The Preview picture is also not available on pictures without a thumbnail.
With kind regards
Askahain

[EDIT] If i upload pictures to the OTF Directory and try to add them in the gallery the thumbnails of some of the pics (same as above) are also not generated

I think it may be using up the memory allotted in php.
You might try increase the memory limit in your ACP.....if that doesn't help you'll probably need to reduce file upload size.
You could also test this theory by downloading the faulty files, resize them smaller, and OTF them again.

Which picture JPG compression are you using?
If it's too high it may creates problems... use 75.

I have the same problem, in my opinion the problem is the fact that we have only 16 MB reserved for PHP elabourations....
Tried different tipes of compression rates.
The problem is resolved if I resize the picture (at a lower resolution than 1280..I don't remember exactly) ....But Users can't resize a picture every time they need to upload one.
Please note that the size limits arent arent a problem: I choosed 3000 X 3000 as a size limit.
I think that it takes more than 16 MB of memoy creating a thumbnail for a big picure....
I know that there is a way to increase that value at 17 MB or more....
Sorry I forgot to tell that when I upload a big picture, the page goes copetely blank, but if I choose not to use thumbnail cache the picture uploads just fine.
And again, If I select "manual thumbnail" and I choose another (little) picture it works
