Post FAP SUPPORT - Forum Members Deleted-Personal Gallery Information Retained

I recently cloned my forum to another server for testing purposes. I deleted all accounts on the forum, then created new test users with random usernames.. but when I go into the personal galleries now of the brand new test users, it is showing images from users i deleted.

When I click the UPLOAD button within the personal gallery, the forum directory says:

Forum Index »  Album   » Personal Gallery of (username of a deleted user, not the username of the new user)

The old users are not appearing on the 'personal gallery index' page.

I recently followed the 'Standard Unrelated Gallery In Personal Gallerys' thread instructions: http://www.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?t=829 I have not tried reverting to backup files before this, which i will do now.

any idea what's up?

*edit*

reverted to backup files, and still get the same issue so it's not the mod mentioned above causing the problem.

I also deleted the test account (test2), and created a new one with the same username. When I checked the personal gallery for the new test account, a different previously deleted users images appeared.

In addition, I created a 3rd test account with a username of 'fake account' and it acted as if it was a brand new account, and did not link to any old album images.. strange.

can someone help me get to the bottom of this?

Hi krisbfunk,
this is not an error. there have been discussions on MG's site. Bottomline is that with FAP 1.4.0 the pictures of deleted members are not deleted.

However, there is a 'fix' in the contributions folder. Have not tested it tho.

    - As Admin I can move pictures within all public and personal galleries. When doing that I noticed that there are still galleries from deleted users. I saw a thread from earlier this year for the old version. In the new version, if I delete a user, what happens to his pictures? Nothing seems to get deleted. If not automatically, is there a quick way to delete his personal gallery and the pictures therein. I am not so bothered about pictures of a user in the public gallery since it is public but wondered what happens...

This is one of the things I've always been fought...

What I think is that if a user is deleted I wouldn't all his pictures being erased too... but this is my opinion.

Currently what happens is that pictures remain linked to the user_id, and the only risk is when you delete the latest available ID (which is having pics in the album) and another user will register taking the same ID and overtaking the pictures uploaded by the deleted user. I think that this is a really extreme situation.

Anyway Smartor Album 2.0.55 includes a fix for this... but since I'm not convinced this is the best way to go, I left the modification to be added in the docs folder, and I have not included it in standard FAP. If you think this is worth to be added, you can easily add it on your own.

Thanks lefty74 for reporting what I posted some time ago...

In Smartor Album 2.0.55 this "bug" has been fixed... but I won't fix it in FAP... I should have added this code in contrib folder, so anyone who doesn't like this could eventually add this piece of code and fix it.
