Subject: Downloads Category Icon

Hi, I've recently added this feature to my forum and I'd like to share it with you.

You can see the demo here

What does this mod does?
This mod allows you to add icons near download categories (in pafiledb downloads section).
It can be configured through ACP in ACP -> Downloads -> Manage categories (when adding or editing a category).

Installation instructions

Spoiler: [ Show ]

Run this SQL query. Remember to replace ip_ with your table prefix.

ALTER TABLE `ip_pa_cat` ADD `cat_icon` VARCHAR( 255 ) NOT NULL AFTER `cat_desc` ;

Open adm/admin_pa_category.php
Find

$cat_desc = ( !empty( $_POST['cat_desc'] ) ) ? $_POST['cat_desc'] : '';

After, add

$cat_icon = ( !empty( $_POST['cat_icon'] ) ) ? $_POST['cat_icon'] : '';

Find

$cat_desc = $pafiledb->cat_rowset[$cat_id]['cat_desc'];

After, add

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]

$cat_icon = $pafiledb->cat_rowset[$cat_id]['cat_icon'];

Find

'CAT_DESC' => $cat_desc,

After, add

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]

'CAT_ICON' => $cat_icon,

Find

'L_CAT_DESC_INFO' => $lang['Catdescinfo'],

After, add

Open language/lang_english/lang_admin_pafiledb.php
Repeat this action in each language you have installed

Could you explain what this mod does? Thanx :mrgreen:

(I know, the general idea is to add an icon for sub category files... Perhaps its helpful just to explain this though, along with how the admin panel works) ;)

Can it be used on an original phpbb3 board?

Try to search @ phpbb.com to see if someone released some BBCodes Box with this feature.

This board is still based on phpBB 2 and the BBCodes are totally different from standard phpBB both 2 and 3.
