Icy Phoenix

Hi
I am new user to icy phoenix. I used Phpbb3 portal before and now i upgraded to ICY Phoenix.
One thing, that i don't know how to change the template style (Black_Pearl).
Which place do i need to upload if i use FTP? And which file (or) files do i need to upload from Style Management?
I read and tried by reading many of the posts in this forum. But it still doesn't work.
And one more thing is when i install ICY, i didn't see all of the posts that i posted before (in Phpbb3 portal). Are they deleted or how can i get back?
Or how can i back up post before upgrade to Icy Phoenix

you cant install icyphoenix on phpbb3 and want to have posts or members from there

you have to upgrade from phpbb3 to icyphoenix , and belive me i dont know anybody who made that ..exept MG (owner of icyphoenix) who told that he made it...

- next , if you didnt deleted your databse of phpbb3 , posts and members are still there in that databse , but you cant see them with icyphoenix...

I suggest you to beckup your templates before you do anything

The main problem for me is i want to use the Black_Pearl Style in my phpbb3 portal.
Can i use it?

unrar and upload this mine :

stylesheet.css in your stylesblack_pearltheme ...

and

block folder to your stylesblack_pearltemplateportal ...

than empty cache

For this, i already downloaded that BlackBlue Pearl template and already tried by reading the post which you helped to the other guy in this forum!

Unfortunately, when i upload the template folder to my root, nothing can transfer and every transfer are failed :( Do i need to give any folder permission? Or why does it happen?

I m really appreciate and glad for your help but i m really sorry for disturbing you time and my stupidity :(

are you owner of host where you trying to upload?

hi i dont know hwere to write it but anyone know how to fix a portal issue

The people who created the portal for phpBB3 take the responsibility for adding various themes to it - Why don't you check out THEIR website.

That theme is created by MG

I know, but the portal and the theme MODIFICATIONS for it is created by a third party. ;)

The last time I looked at this similar problem (Which is somewhere here in the phpBB stuff) The theme created by MG is fine. The portal adaptation on the other hand is only catered for by the creators of the portal.

The DO have a website for that, and the last MG theme from memory that they converted to include the portal was pearl_blue.

What phpBB users need to realise is that the themes for the portal are an extension of the base theme, or it WAS the last time I looked at it, and they need to go to the portal-creators website for the modifications.

In other words - Themes for phpBB by MG (from Memory) Do not include any portal templates because it is a MOD and not part of any default phpBB theme.

In my opinion, if ANYONE using phpBB3 ask anything other than questions about ANYTHING that is not actually supported here for phpBB3, they should be asked to post their questions at phpbb.com

MG Supports themes and FAP etc - Christ! we're getting questions that really have nothing to do with anything here.

And "How do I centre my portal" is bloody classical! :(

I have both, IP and phpBB3 - both running with the black pearl style. The phpBB3 has also a portal. And indeed the theme was created by MG. It is made available for download here also for phpBB3. The portal uses the same theme - there is no need for an extension. Its only adaptions. But the basics are from the theme. So anyway if you feel you dont need to support it - dont do it ;)

If he has a problem with the theme he is justified to ask here cause the style is from here. If he has a problem with his portal he has to go to the portal supplier.
So just want to figure out that it has something to do with what you offer here - namely the basic style ;)

Anway i had a look to your site drake and couldnt find problems, neither with your theme nor with the portal. So dunno where your problem is...

It look´s like the portal is streched in wide.

BTW he got something like empty space to the left of the portal page. it just shows backround there.

so
1. the portal is not centert to the backround.

2. wide is not set to 100% to adapt all grafic resoltutions.

Look´s like he changed his template.

Yesterday it was BluePearl style. and that did´nt fit the screen

He has a colored version of Blue Pearl... and I see no problem in his Home Page.

For me there is no problem in asking support for everything... I also deserve the right for supporting what I want to support. :P
