i've one problem with a nick name of a man in my site.
his nickname is: "Luca&Cecy" (without "")
But the site view in all page: "Luca&Amp;Cecy"
In the DB there is the correct name... in i go to ACP and find Luca&Cecy the site find this name... but all the site view Luca&Amp;Cecy!
I've server linux install icyphoenix!

Yes there is a reason for not allowing '&' and various other symbols - because they can lead to remote file inclusions and other forms of hacking!
For your info this "stripping" is due to a function located in includes/functions.php - the function is called phpbb_clean_username($username).
You could modify it, if you wanted to allow symbols, though that really wouldn't be advisable ;)
