Dynamic Menu

Subject: Dynamic Menu
I just wanted to know something...

Is the Dynamic Menu connected to the Nav Links block? And if so, then why when I change it does it not reflect the changes when you view it on the site?

Thanks.

Subject: Re: Dynamic Menu
The dyanmic menu has its own block the dynamic menu block in templates/block... so any changes you do will not show in the nav quick link block... which is a html block...

hope that helps..

no not at all... the both work independently of each other... I was saying if you change something in the dynamic menu it will not change in nav quick links...

because i´ve been thinking to get rid of the quick nav link.s .

they sort of disturb me

I just did the same on one of my sites... saves a lot of hassle going in to the file and changing the html and with the dynamic menu you can create loads..

Don't forget that with the CMS ADV you can drag & drop menu item for sorting them as you want... :mrb:

yes but you forget one point buldo.

that works only in english, i´ve tried that in spanish and it does´nt work, cause cms accesses the original quick_nav links but not the translatet ones

in your spanish translation have you not got a language file called lang_cms.php there is all the lang for the dynamic menu...

Subject: Re: Dynamic Menu
yes, i´ve got that.

but that means that i´ve got to edit that file instead of doing it through cms. better said , we are back to codes and codes and codes.

what the cms does is access directly the original quick_nav_links ( english) but i can´t edit the spanish translation.

i´m probably going to rename the spnish version and put it in the english folder. maybe that helps

Thank you for saying that! I still see a lot of IP websites using the old nav links block and it aggravates me, LOL.

The dynamic menu is a godsend. :)
