Hello Everybody..
I'm again with a problem..
I have a problem with the moderators of my forum.. When they post a new topic, they can't post it as news, but when they edit that post, they can.
I want to know how i change who can post news, and how to correct this bug...
Thanks..
¿News Permission Problem?
Subject: Re: ¿News Permission Problem?
Give this a try.
ACP -> Forum -> Permissions List
Scroll till you see the NEWS column. Set the forums you wish moderators can have access to news postings by selecting MOD for each forum. Clear entire cache.

Ok, all permissions are set to ADMIN, but the moderators can post the messages as news if they edit the topic.. I think if i set this to MOD the bug won't be there, but now it is set to ADMIN only, and the moderators can post their topic as news with some trick...
Couldn't be this a bug in the PHP file or something like that??

I don't think it's a bug, but a simple permission problem.
Are you saying they can create a new topic, go back and edit it to set a news category? If they are editing an administrator's topic and making it a news posting, turn off the editing of administrator's posts feature in the ACP. That still seems like a permission problem though.

The moderators cannot edit Administrator's posts...
I Will try to explain better...
When a moderator creates a new topic, he can't (in that moment) post it as news because the news option doesn't appear, but, when he, after posting his topic, edit his topic, he can make the topic news.
Yeah, it seems to be a permissions problem, but why they can post a news ONLY when they edit the posts? I think that it is something in posting.php file, which doesn't check well the permissions.
Another thing: This doesn't happen when an user edit his post..

I understand what you are saying now. Please excuse me, LOL.
Let's see if anyone else is having this problem before we consider it a BUG. If it is indeed a BUG, we'll move it to the BUG forum and report it via the Bug Tracker.
Thanks for pointing this out!
