Hello.

I'm not clear.

With this you can make a separate menu for the forums as shown in the picture?

I hope I understand the question.

Sorry for my English, translated with Google,

Greetings.

Hola.

No me queda claro.

¿Con esto se puede hacer un menu para separar los foros como se muestra en la imagen?

Espero me entiendan la pregunta.

Perdon por mi ingles, traducido con Google,

Saludos.

Copy this code to a html file and you can see what it does.

Da Menu:

Spoiler: [ Show ]

For the TABS to change as the location changes, you will have to integrate it into the .tpl file along with adding all the existing menu vars and the vars to handle the url location etc as depicted in the example below.

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
<!-- IF SCRIPT_NAME eq 'index' -->
<li class="current"><a href="index.php" class="main">Home</a></li>
<!-- ELSE -->
<li><a href="index.php" class="main">Home</a></li>
<!-- ENDIF -->

Make this test before going further.

  1. Create a very short and simple Menu via CMS
  2. Create a new parent block using Global Header or Global Header Simpler
  3. Add the block as a Global Block in Header

Result is like this: http://www.lineameteo.it/

You may then try to customize the template files (look into templates/default/blocks folder) by using the CSS you like.

Why not throw him in the deep end first?

If he gets stuck - I'll help him! :LOL:

And yes, I had "blocking" it in mind along with a few more different menus. :P

i think he need on click to show only forums in categories on main page

something like this :

click on buttons
news_1348149883_758710 sup non

Subject: Re: Menu
That's also my belief. He doesn't want a simple menu, he wants to show/hide some whole categories. I think this is something similar to the navbar menu I made here: http://aelyon.eg2.fr/forum.php (click on the central button and/or on the calendar button).

The thing is that he will have to edit the index_bot.tpl file and change the part where the forums & cats are defined to some div with a tab-header and a content hidden which would appear only when clicking on the tab. If this is still required, I'll make some tests during the next week to make a demo of it.
