Post Re: Converting From Other Portal System To Icy?

Hm, yes it would be very helpful.

So i guess, it's not working for me? Well.... if i think about that, i had to know how i can at least convert the postings and forums/cat's.
I would handle the rest manually then like add permissions, forum images and so on.
Could anyone help me in this case?
Thank you!

Hello!

Ok, thank you very much for this helpful info!
Can you tell me on which date the "new version" comes out?
I will then wait for so long. Thx!

It's (almost) in "alpha stage". It shouldn't take too long, I don't have a date anyway.

Hehehe, nobody has the date at this time

@testikel: You should wait till the next version will be out to move from phpBB3 to IcyPhoenix.
Or you try to downgrade phpBB3 to phpBB2 (I guess there is somewhere a script for that)
And after that you can update to IP

Hi,
if you feel confident in using the latest dev version, I can help in converting from phpBB 3.

Downside is that it could have some bugs. Upside is that is much more fast and you won't have to fight too much with the next upgrade, which I will do for you.

Contact me privately (PM) if you are interested.

Hello!

Still waiting, meanwhile tried to convert on the new GIT version of icy. But it's unfortunely doesn't works. (in install.php - "Convert Forums")
Sad - because i thought i'm smarter.

So i've installed the GIT Version (see sig.) today all new on a all new MySql 5.1 DB and i'm still curious about converting.
Yes may i disturb you all - but icy is sooo cool, i want to finally use it. phpbb3 is not bad...but icy is just better.
Hope you can understand my tiny impatience. *ahem*
Sorry!

I just wanted to say that I didn't forget about this... it still has high priority in my to do list... the only problem is that my to do list is huge!!!

I have coded an alpha version which has some bugs for sure... and still require some manual edits by users... I may improve it in the future.

Here is the alpha version, which I wouldn't run on any live site, because it's very likely that it won't work properly.

Just in case someone would like to help and debug... please do... and report!
