Subject: Convert Dimension Forum To Icy
Hi all,

Finally Icy is out a big yay, and my compliments what a great job you guys did
But now i have a problem
I have two forums one xs forum wich I will convert to Icy soon too, and I have a phpbb dimension forum, its a premodded forum.
I would like to start converting my dimension forum to Icy, I've made a testforum to try things out but I cant get it to work all I get is a blank page :(
Is there anyone here who knows how I can convert my dimension forum to Icy?

Many thanks,
Moniek

A phpBB standard, without modifications.

Since convertors from phpBB to Icy are already working, if you could first convert to phpbb standard you could easily convert to Icy ;)

Ok I will try that, just one last question were can I find such a converter, is it on the phpbb homepage??
I never done this before, not even updated my forum so its really out of date

Thanks a lot

Unfortunatly they didn't, I did a search on their site, someone already asked how to convert dimension to standard phpbb, the answer on the site whas that its complex and there is no document about it. :(

It is easy... download Icy Phoenix and go in contrib folder within install... you'll find a zip file called phpbb_clean_tables_1_0_8.zip... unzip it and read the instructions.

I couldnt wait to try it out, but unfortunatly all I get is errors :(
Is it an option that I install Icy template on my old dimension forum, then select Icy template as standard template (I know it wont work on my old forum), then install the whole Icy forum on a different location on my hosting but on the same database as my old forum, and then I put my config file from my old forum in the new icy forum, and put a redirection on my old forum to the new on.
I know I cant delete my old forum then because I would lose all data but can this work?
I dont think I will ever figure out how to convert the dimension forum to Icy, I'm just not good enough, I dont know anything about codes and stuff and dimension is so full with mods.

I'm pretty sure that a combination of that code and the update script would work fine in upgrading your site.

Try to make more tests...
