Post Upload Local Site To Remote

I was wondering what I will have to change when I will upload the locally configured system to my remote web server.

What files do I have to edit ?
I guess paths will not be the same on the remote server as they are on my localhost where I am configuring and setting up Icyphoenix.

Would it be just better to install it to remote webserver and configure online ?
It would certainly be more convenient to have it available locally to configure but only as long as I won't need to reinstall from scratch on remote machine....

Any advice ?

Thanks

A clean install would be the best solution...

I do the same when I set up my Icy forum
I take the DB backup file and replace the string "localhost" with "yourdomain.com" and change the config.php
