I'm going to give some ideas i have to improve IcyPhoenix System, I hope they could be helpful. I'd like to try doing it myself, but i have no time and no experience (i'm not programmer).

All my ideas are reffering to Multilanguage features of IP. At the present, the multilanguage options of IP are great and simple, but i think some changes could improve the experience.

Translating Buttons

I think: if the buttons had the same structure that table headers ( ), they coul be translated automatically as the rest of the IcyPhoenix system, making reference to the language file "lang_buttons.php" (for example). Same way that theese buttons ( ) but with background images.

Translating Articles/Topics

I think also: The posibility of posting articles and topics in several languages at the time, in order to show the same structure to all users but completly translated. In each article or topic could appear the flags of the translated languages of the article/topic, and the option to add translations by users. Something like Wiki.

I know that including theese features to IP is a non easy work, but im sure tha MG and Co. can develope it.

I'd like to thanks to whole IcyPhoenix team the great work they do. IP is a great CMS and it's unbelieveable that it's free!! It's the great work of opensource and GNU. Thanks again.

If I understand correctly you would like to have standard input buttons with a background image...

It's a matter of personal taste, I prefer keeping forms buttons as they are just to distinguish what is in a form and what isn't.

In any case it is easy to add them as image, all you have to do is:

• Create an empty button image (maybe different for different width)
  
• Edit the CSS by creating new buttons classes which use the background image
  
• Edit the template (where the buttons are to be used) by assigning the newly created CSS class

If you want to create a customized template with this feature I can help with some tips...

Finally regarding translations in multiple language there is a mod for doing that in Customizations section... try to have a look!
