Post ERROR: No Images [?]

Hi all!

I've found an important error in my IcyPhoenix site: images don't appear. I've uploaded templates again, with no result.

There are 2 images to prove this:

No-image squares with IE:
1

Localhost IP?
2

Site's URL: http://clancat.es

What's up with the images? They don't appear, but avatars and logo [see welcome module] appear. That's strange!

Thanks in advance

I suggest you need to check 2 things:

-  check you upload all images folder correctly
-  clear template cache

hope it works

It seems like the image files are not where they should be: /templates/mg_themes/images/p_black

As for the images you said can be seen, they are located in other domain: anikas.es

Hi,

  • Template cache cleared.
  • I've uploaded the template folder again.
  • Not all images are hosted in anikas.es (avatars are in clancat.es and we can see them). Only affects template's images.

  • Can be a server error? Look the second image: it shows Firefox trying to connect to 127.0.0.1

  • Error appears in all templates

URL: http://clancat.es

Thanks again

Are you sure you don't have hot-link prevention in place and haven't added your site url to it. ?

Try renaming the .htaccess file to something else - and try again.

Thanks Lopalong,

It seems a .htaccess problem. What can I do? What I have to edit?

I noticed you fixed it while I was experimenting with this path: h**p://clancat.es/templates/mg_them...nothumbnail.jpg

You need to re-name the .htaccess back to that, goto your Cpanel (If that's what you have) > hotlink prevention > "disable"

Then add all of the url's you want to allow and also allow "Browser Access" > Enable and Save.

It's not difficult, but I don't know what your expertise is?

So! if you want my site to access your images, you would add both of these:

h**p://icythemes.com
h**p://***.icythemes.com

Mmmm I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but if there's the .htaccess file, images don't appear...
Now I have to go to sleep, I'm very tired. Tomorrow I'll continue with this. Thanks Lopalong!!

Then I would suggest that the hotlink prevention in the .htaccess file was written outside of cPanel? and it doesn't know it exists.

As a matter of interest, PM me a copy of the contents of the file. Or pin it somewhere as a .zip file so I can have a look at it.

I don't think - try this or that is going to be much good unless the content of the file is known.

Got it!

Eeeek!

I'm pretty certain where the problem is, but I'd like you to test something.

In the .zip (PM) are .htaccess1.txt and 2. Rename "1" to .htaccess - overwrite the old one - and test it.

If it's NoGo? Do the same with htaccess2.txt. That should work will and indicate where or what the problem really is. (I hope)

PS: Don't know if you are aware: You can't use Windows to rename the file - Do it at the server.

Well, CPanel shows a lot of URLs and HotLinking is enabled. Images are showed.

But why this adresses appear? Are the necessary?
Code: [Download] [Hide]
  1. ^(.*)4ap.com(.*)
  2. ^(.*)9cy.com(.*)
  3. ^(.*)allinternal.com(.*)
  4. ^(.*)andipink.com(.*)
  5. ^(.*)anonym.to(.*)
  6. ETC.

It seems that it works. Thanks Lopalong!!

PS: If something happens I'll post here again

This is difficult to explain, so please bear with me.

The first .htaccess.txt file is an exact copy of your original one with the text formatted with EOL's / CR's

When you added hot-linking - cPanel re-wrote the file in one - big - long - string, and this places the comments in the lines where they are not wanted and causes everything to break.

The extra url's are visible because it is designed that cPanel should not have access to this particular file as it was never meant to be either in the root of the domain, or accessible to cPanel.

The second (.htaccess.txt) file is about all that is required and should be in the domain public root.

The Main Problem: You have no Forum path such as yoursite.com/forum/ etc. and Icy Phoenix is installed directly to the root of the domain. That's a NO NO!

What you should do: Create a folder named "forum" / or "myjoint"  or anything you want to call the access to your forum, and move all Icy Phoenix (Retaining the Structure) to that folder.

(I also don't recommend moving anything unless you are absolutely sure of the required procedure.)

Upload a new Icy .htaccess file to the new "forum" folder, and use the .htaccess2.txt (renamed) in the root (public folder) of your domain.

If you decide to move Icy Phoenix to its own folder (Which you should) - there are two ways to do it. The easy way and the HARD way.

Start a new thread if you want to, or need help to move it. The main thing is you will need to add a re-direct in cPanel if you do.
