Hi Everyone,
Love your work!

I just completed a new install of version 1.2.0.27c however after trying to get back in I find I cannot.
I have set this up on my localhost and experimented for a few days with no problems.

Now that its on the server........ I cannot access ACP.
I can Login and get returned as a Member (as normal).

I select the ACP option and...........

The second Login starts but locks after it has displayed the header.

Hope someone can help.

Icy Phoenix uses a LOT of caching to speed things up - - So

Is this a complete new install, or did you upload the files from localhost to the server?

Is it a "New" Database, or did you mod the one you tested with localhost and used that?

Complete new install...... including New db.
I did modify the mysql_schema.sql because I had probs with it when I did the test install on localhost.

I did try to install from the localhost origionally but it would not work so I deleted the server and started again.
It didn't delete all the directories but I am sure I took out all the files prior to a clean install.

I see your're an Aussie too........ go Aussies.

Do a fresh install of everything new as it should save a lot of problems. Icy is too complicated and doesn't like "Maybe I did this or that". Let's start with a fresh one, and take it from there. ;)

Hi..... I did a full re-install and it fixed the origional problem. I can now login to ACP.

However I have another difficulty.......

I cannot access the CMS to modify any blocks...... I keep getting "redirected" to "http://xlphp.net/blog4/index.php"

I have looked into the cms.php and can't see where this could be comming from.

Is h**p://xlphp.net your host?

Try this anyway:

Go to the portal page (index.php) and mouse-over both the CMS url in the Menu Links and at the bottom of the page where it says "Edit this Page", and see what links show up in the footer of your browser. (Assuming you use IE).

If they show going to /cms.php then rename .htaccess to a.htaccess etc and then see what happens.

PS: You must be logged as Admin of course. ;)

I'm around the place for about the next 20 minute - then someone else will have to help if this is not resolved.

Edit: If xlphp.net is your host and it's a new account, they may have a re-direct in place in the root .htaccess - - index.html - index.htm - index.php - Then their url to the blog. Godaddy does the same sort of thing until one adjusts or deletes it.

Redirects because of your hosting: A byehost reseller.

I had problems of that kind. Re-upload:
fuctions/*.*
includes/*.*
/*.* (no folders)

*CHMOD*

Novice was correct...... I am hosting with byehost...
I tried what was suggested but "No Cigar !"
Actually its fine on my localhost...... so is it possile to make all the changes offline (localhost) do a backup... upload the backup and install the changes that way?
I would prefer to do any changes offline and test them. It woulsd also save doing things twice.

Of course you can install it on localhost - then make all the necessary DB edits etc, and follow the upgrade script for which files not to overwrite. config.php etc.

I would be more concerned that this arrangement may cause unwanted problems in the future. And maybe you need a host that doesn't screw up what you are trying to do. ;)
