Can you please help me to convert my phpbb3 forum to icyphoenix or just to put some instructions what to do with database and how to downgrade it to phpbb2 so that i will upgrade it to icy...
I realy want icy  because i think it's the best solution for my students portal. Best regards !

Conversion is possible but not automated yet. It has to be done manually by someone who knows what is doing...

How many users and posts do you have in your forums?

Well , Sir  Mighty Gorgon we have about 270 registered  memebers, about 282 themes and 1567 posts,  but Montnegro, my country, is one of the smallest countries in Europe with populations about 650 000. I don't want to lose my members, and i would like to someone with experience in this things   help us to transform my phpbb3 forum in icy portal. Thank you for your quick answer !  

As I said the conversion is possible, but it is not easy and it requires time. If you are skilled enough with PHP and MySQL I can think about providing a script which may help...

If i undersand you, you will thinking to  make some script for conversion which will help us to make that conversion. I don't have experience with phpbb3 and mysql but my man from tehnical support has experience and it's Limun from this forum. He will try to  do that for me . Thank you for your help !

I already have several scripts, but the problem is that the conversion is not easy, because you have to reassign some usernames and you also have to reapply al forum permissions and subcategories. AND YOU HAVE TO DO THAT MANUALLY (unless you are skilled enough to code such a thing!).

Making a totally automated script would require many days and tests... plus I don't want to encourage users to move from phpBB 3, unless they have really good reasons for doing that.

hello could detail the steps to convert it manually???  Because I have a forum that I need to convert necessarily icy phoenix because as many phpbb3 has disappointed us, however icy amazes us every day.

our forum has about 40000 users and 110000 posts

If you are familiar with MySQL you should start converting forums, topics and posts tables... then you have to import the users and create a new random password for each of them.

If you are not familiar with PHP and MySQL it could take weeks for you to convert... as it is not easy and quick.

That script will help very little... but if you don't have any other solution you can try that.

I have written some code which correctly converts BBCodes as well... but as I told in other topics, it is not automated and requires a little of PHP / MySQL skills to be used...

Since the process is time consuming I only offer this script to users which are willing to pay a small fee for the time required for the conversion.

If I'll ever come with a completely automated script which doesn't require manual editing I'll post it for free.
