There is a bug if you use an SMTP server and if you try to send a mail by the "tell a friend" function. The error is this:

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address

I ever use the SMTP because my server doesn't support sendmail, and all works fine, but not this function, so I suppose that this is a bug.

Ok... it can be a problem of my server. But why all mail function works fine and this not? What can be wrong and what I can check to let work well this function?

I'm running my own mail server, but I don't use it for sending mails from phpBBXS
I tried it , but some errors I had.it was working, but needed username and password.
then I set ISP smtp to my  outgoing mail - all OK.

I use my hosting SMTP and all is ok, but as I said not this function and I don't understand why.
