I have been using Icy Phoenix for about a week now and have had this problem with 2 users....Another one seemed to not have any issues.

The e-mail link that is sent when i have User Activation enabled sends them to a link that displays the error "Forbiden.  You do not have rights to access posting.php"

Something along those lines.

When I tested this myself by creating a new account, i saw it too.

I haven't done any mods to the php scripts or anything, and i don't recall doing anything that would affect registrations.

Any idea's or help would be appreciated

EDIT:  I began looking through some other posts....i think the hotmail thing may be part of it, but i have tried the copy and paste and still got the same error when the mail was sent to the hotmail

witch version of IP are you using???

my board is reporting me as using 1.2.0.27c although it does say there are updates available.  I think this has something to do with the move of the site 'cause it has been saying that since IP went down.

mine did the same the last days.

if you go into ACP now there should be no new version avaible.

can you post a link to your site please. so i can have a look trying to register

have you checked the CHMODs on install??

which ACP you needing, server or site?

And if it's the posting.php chmod, i went as far as to attempt 777 for it and still had the issues.  What's it supposed to be chmodded to?

be sure all chmod are correct or reupload the files again

this is the capture of the admin index and top part of the general config....currently the posting.php is chmod 644

Ill get those chmods changed that you posted and come back and let you know.  Thanks for the help

UPDATE:

All the files are chmod correctly already.  I was missing the subfolders for cache and the file/albums/users.

But everything in that list is CHMOD properly

one question.

activation is user or admin???

is that a hoster or a privat server??

anyway it defenitly got nothing to do with hotmail.

cause i use hotmail and i signed into ICY Phoenix com with that account without any probs.

on the other site U might consider doing as backup of DB and reinstall icy by uploading everything again and then restore DB. sometimes something gets lost on the way up to the server.
