Post Upgrading

Hi

Can anybody help me with this question, I currently have two forums installed 1 is phpBBXS and the other is phpBBFM.

My question is; is it possible to upgrade my phpbbFM installation to phpBBXS without losing any of my existing members, uploads, attachments, pictures, posts and so on.
If this is not possible, can I port across all the details from my phpbbFM forum into a clean install of phpBBXS.

Thanks in advance

All you can do is test the upgrade script on a backup copy of your site.

I think that most of the feature should work...

Thanks for the reply MJ, I have now tried to carry out the upgrade but the installation stalls immediately upon execution with the following error message;

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_pagestart() in /homepages/8/d69702653/htdocs/install/update_to_xs2.php on line 27

Having looked at the above script, it seems that the script cannot find the relevant admin info, please note that I am logged in when trying to execute the script.

The problem occurs when trying to upgrade from phpBBFM to phpBBXS.

  Any ideas on what could be wrong, because I am getting deseprate now, I was hacked three times over the weekend, I realy do not want to carry on using the FM portal.

if you are running the script inside the install folder don't do it
run it on the root of your forum

OK

New problem now, the upgrade script worked OK, so I have uploaded all the new files as discribed in the install instructions.

The board now seems to be operational with the overall header and the footer displaying without any problems, the error that is occuring is with the main body of the forum. This part of the page is not displaying and in it's place is an error message which is as follows;

Could not unlock optimize database cron

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'cron_lock' in 'field list'

UPDATE phpbb_optimize_db SET cron_lock = '1'

Line : 99
File : optimize_database_cron.php

Anybody got any ideas about this error.
