I pruned all topics that were a year old on my forum. Just for one time.
Now it prunes topics that over a year old, even if I don't want it to.
I have auto prune disabled on my forum, yet it still prunes.
How do I disable auto-prune completely.
I am running IP 1.2.0.27c

I can't remember where the switch is in IP 1.2, but have a look at ACP -> Configuration -> Site Settings or ACP -> Forums -> Prune Overview.

Both of them say that Auto-Pruning is disabled, yet it still prunes.
Is there a way to edit the pruning files so it doesn't prune?

It's really weird!
Did you empty your cache?
The code for pruning should be in includes/prune.php
