1. how do you add the "sponsor" section into the forums like you do here.

2. Is there a way to EXCLUDE a forum from being queried on the "New Posts"?? Do I have to set a particular permission on it?

1- ACP -> Configuration -> Header & Banners
Viewtopic Banner -> Yes and copy/paste code banner.

2- I don't now, PRIVATE permissions to VIEW and READ ?

What do you mean by NEW POSTS? Which function, in which page?

If you mean the latest posts on index or view online... you have an option in ACP...

The "New Posts" since last log in feature. Where is shows how many new posts there are since your last log into the site.  If you click the link, it shows all the latest posts, but there is one forum I need to exclude from that "New Posts" query.

That function is implemented in search.php. As soon as I have some free time, I'll fix that function to do not include posts in not authorized forums.
