FAP CUSTOMIZATION - Critique Ratings

Subject: FAP CUSTOMIZATION - Critique Ratings

This is probably a pretty big request, but I use FAP for a student Photographer forum, which creates the demand for a more efficient way to critique photos online. Moreso I'd just like to gain ideas on how to put it together and what the best way would be.

The type of thing I'm looking for is either a rating, or poll mod with multiple feilds that can be enabled in certain galleries (or all) for critiquing individual images.

The rating Feilds would be from 1 - 5, 5 being excellent and 1 being bad.
An example would be:

Dust/Neatness: [*] 1 [*] 2 [*] 3 [*] 4 [*] 5
Depth of Field: ""
Lighting: ""
Grain / Noise: ""
Cropping: ""
Subject Matter: ""
Originality: ""

Then some way to view the overall results.

i have just taken on the maintenance and part admin of the forum of our photography club.

before having a go myself, has anyone ever started or even possibly finished this?

cheers

I haven't, although the solution I've found is using albumimg tags and doing critiques on the forum using the 'tabulated survey' mod to make critique forms.. pretty good for generating overall stats etc. you also have to have the 'clone posts' mod installed, because once you make a complicated survey (critique sheet) you can then just clone that sheet into a new post. Having the critiques on the forum also allows people to replace their photo with a revised image post-critique to show the changes. The only drawback is having to lure the people into the forum critiques and away from the image galleries.. once your user base is used to critiqing/commenting on individual images in the galleries, they're rather reluctant to jump into such a change.

If you're interested in critique sheets, I have one that's pretty good at keeping the goal on constructive critisism to further the image, rather than just critisism.

hey,that's a good idea.
I haven't installed FAP on the live version of the forum yet so the members are not used to anything right now :P
There are not many that use the forum so I am still debating whether its worth the effort... on the other hand it may attract members to use the forum...

We do have critique sheets in our club as well but I would be very interested in a copy of the one you are referring to :)

thanks very much
