hello i am trying to get my downloads to work i went into the admin area and deleted the test catagory and went to put my new catagories in and this poped up
Couldn't add a new category

i have tried everything in the db maintenance section but nothing changes what do i do please help me please

i've just tried with v. 1.1.0.15b and I don't get this error

I checked out the database and ip_pa_cat is there it have 1kb in it LOL so why is my website telling me its not there does anyone know ?

That´s strange... My board haven´t got any post or user but me and it has got about 700Kb of size.
Try to back-up your db.

already done that and i have even tried to restore it but nothing! i mean how can this be!

Is a live site (I mean, somebody not from your computer can acess)?
Are the sql settings on config.php well?
Has your server changed form mysql3x to mysql4x/5x?

Then there could be SECURITY ISSUE!

Please post the answers asaw.

the site is live yes but what happened was i uploaded the site and installed everything and in downloads it has the test category right so i went into ACP and deleted that category and ass i did that my server which has always been mysql4x had been crashing but not at that time it was fine then but when i tried to put a new category in there it came up with that problem!

so i have no idea whats going on!

i do have the config file up i think but my site is brand new no one knows about it yet not realy!

what is really strange is the fact that the website works fine and the download page its self says your dont have the correct access or there is no categories which there isnt because of that problem the only other thing that doesnt work is the cradits page which said the page is too long or something like that!

But if you have got the sql server down, then it will come up a critical error messege.

no it was going down every now and then but that problem is fixed and if the server was down the whole site would not work at all because it needs the server to run

tried to optimize the db?
tried to repair the db?

I still don't understand where the problem is in this topic... :roll:
