Re-Compression Problems In FAP 1.4.0

Good afternoon. I've been struggling for a few days on this one now and thought I'd turn to the experts.

Having turned off all possible forms of re-sizing and compression in the Control Panel I am surprised to see my images being resized when viewing them in the album.

I am getting my file sizes to the correct size and quality before uploading them (around (150kb) and when I look in the upload folder they are correct (i.e. 150kb) yet when viewing them in the album they are down to around 50kb and the loss in quality is obvious. They see to be being re-compressed when being viewed - most odd. I have searched the forum and found a similar problem (h**p://***.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=576&highlight=compression) and wondered if this was ever solved.

I'm using FAP 1.4.0. on phpBB 2.0.22.

hi, have you tried udpating to the latest FAP version?

I am on FAP 1.4.1. and i have not come across that problem.

Upgrading was my next option but I was hoping for a quick fix and then upgrade when I have more time.

It seems odd that the files are the correct sizes in the upload folder but are re-sized when sent to the browser so I was hoping there might be a tweak to one of the php files somewhere.

I'll let you know if there is any success when I upgrade but if anyone else has any ideas I'd be very grateful :)

This was a bug in an early release of 1.4.0, but should have been fix by 1.4.1

Thanks Artie, I shall upgrade as soon as possible and see if this clears the problem.
