Sort Topics Mod - Sort Topics Alphabetically Or By Date
Subject: Re: Sort Topics Mod - Sort Topics Alphabetically Or By Date
1. This is not the sort of language we like to see here. If you do not understand this, I suggest you visit a care centre for the mentally impaired, and see how far you get using such expressions which reveal more about the mental deficiencies of the person using such vocabulary.
2. You should know that all mods released here, phpbb, and indeed every open source platform, are written for the default installation of the intended platform. If you are trying to install this on something different to the default release of Icy Phoenix, then you cannot expect to be amazed if you cannot find this file.
3. If you have a file called "viewforum_body.html" then use a little common sense and open it, have a look for the relevant code. Probably there will be some differences, but you should still be able to spot where things are. For this template file, you need to insert the new lines relative to the forum title at the top, and to the bottom of the forum table. If you understand html, this should be easy. First step should be to open the mg_themes template file and compare to your installed theme file.

You are responding with an absolute load of dribble. inasmuch that you are not even aware that Icy Phoenix and phpBB3 are two different systems, and that the Black Pearl template / theme exists for both of them.
You have one yellow card - and unless you change your approach here - three will automatically ban you. :(

You seem to be blissfully unaware this project is open source, like phpbb. That means we all work here for free, and as such, you are obliged to treat staff here with respect. You will not get the same kind of generous and rapid support in any other open source platform as you do on icyphoenix (indeed I've yet to find comparable support in any paid product), so be grateful. Lopalong has tried to help guide you in the right direction several times, but it seems you do not acknowledge this and remain obtuse in the information you provide.
Now ask yourself a simple question: How can anybody support you if you cannot provide appropriate relevant and concise information - whether you pay for the support or not? If a starter motor broke on your car, you wouldn't expect to call a parts centre and just say "I want a starter motor for my car" without giving make, model and year. The fact remains, you still have not informed us what version of icyphoenix you are using - indeed you don't even seem to know what Icy Phoenix is, or where exactly you downloaded your black pearl theme from.
All Icy phoenix template files end with .tpl extension. As said in my last post, check the contents of the similarly named file to the default mg_themes template for viewforum_body.tpl. There is nothing to stop you using this mod in different templates, however for your template all you need to do is observe the html in the forum table layout and insert the code where you want to see the sort list. Easy as that.
However... if you are trying install this mod on anything other than icyphoenix, do not expect it to work, and do not ask for support, because as the title of this forum says, all mods here are for Icy Phoenix. They will not work on phpBB3, and only with a number of changes will they work on phpBB2. Icy Phoenix has been developed far beyond the basic phpBB2 engine, and phpBB3 is totally different in almost every way to phpBB2.

Thanks, for this update.
I have added this feature to Icy Phoenix with some small modifications.
If you are interested in knowing what they are, you may have a look at SVN files.
