Free Byethost And Problem

Subject: Free Byethost And Problem
i instaled icyphoenix on byethost to see what and how it gona be...

now i understand better what problems haved member lvliguel

so i start with this

bye01

bye02

and the worst this , never know when or where this thing go to show up...

for example , i cant add block (i m automaticly redirected to that thing )

when i asked them for support i got this answers :

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
Common issues for redirection include but are not limited to...
Errors in code syntax
Path issues
Filename case issues (INDEX.html vs. index.HTML vs index.html, etc...)
Use of disabled functions
Use of banned scripts or content
Missing or incomplete data being referenced which are required

whic i dont understand , and i m sure that problem is not in icyphoenix

i tryed icyphoenix on other freehosts , and it worked perfectly (well , exept speed)

so i want to ask everibody who use icyphoenix on byethost if they also have similar problems

this topic is not asking for support , i just want to understand better why this happen... (somehow i think they dont like free forums like phpBB , but maybe i m wrong )

thanks for reading this

maybe it is better to warn against all people for bytehost

ad's are "normal" for free hosting but this is far too much......with this you can't work

Servers like bytehost are there for silly people and children to experiment with, and in the meantime they use this weakness and exploit their lack of experience to promote anything that they wish.

Let's face it. There is nothing such as a Free Host without strings attached. And from that example and your experience with servers, Bytehost appears to one of the worse ones.

To be avoided I would imagine.

You could try dropping .htaccess from the root and see what happens - Either way, they hold all the cards and pull all of the strings.

I never liked Byethost. Is really bad for a forum like Icy Phoenix.

You can try with extroverthost.com, hehehe :mrviolet:

From what I've read and the way I understand it, they inject script into the index files (any index file) to promote their ads. And that is not going to be much use for programmes with multiple index files.

You may have done us a favour, as I have applied for a test account there to check out the resources. ;)
