Well, I'm downloading it but till the middle of February university won't let me do any test with this stuff :cry: I just will stay in touch with this community and keep informed ;)

  • Wat is Icy Phoenix?

    • CMS functies dat nieuwe pagina's en blokken toestaat (sommige functies zijn gebaseerd op die van IM Portal)
    • Volledige template integratie in alle site delen
    • Aantal functies die je kunt gebruiken: Foto Gallerij, Downloads, Kennisbank, Links...
    • Meer talen mogelijk en meerdere templates zijn aanwezig
    • Redelijk W3C compliant
    • Veel andere functies...
  • Is Icy Phoenix makkelijk om te installeren en de upgraden van andere configuraties
  • Icy Phoenix heeft een eigen setup procedure wat de gebruiker door de stappen van het setup leid. Een upgrading bestand is beschikbaar om te kunnen updaten van een standaard phpBB en phpBB XS forum. Hopelijk word in de toekomst mogelijk om van elke configuratie te updaten naar Icy Phoenix.
  • Heeft Icy Phoenix verschillende templates om te gebruiken?
  • Op dit moment zijn er drie templates beschikbaar (maar met verschillende kleurenvarianten), maar we zijn bezig om meerdere templates te creëren.
  • Is Icy Phoenix meertalig?
  • Engels is de hoofdtaal van Icy Phoenix, maar is ook vertaald naar andere talen (in alfabetische volgorde): Catalaans, Nederlands, Galego, Duits, Italiaans, Servisch, Spaans...en er komen meer!


Op dit moment zit Icy Phoenix in de beta-fase, wat moet er nog moet gedaan worden om het compleet te maken:
  • Installatie procedure testen in alle omgevingen
  • Laatste UPI2DB integratie
  • CTracker 5 testen
  • CMS permissie niveaus
  • Ice Template


De beta-release bevat alle dingen die Icy Phoenix inzicht zal hebben en wat het word, bugs oplossen en misschien met sommige goede suggesties worden er nog functie geimplementeerd in de final versie... Dit pakket is stabiel maar ik wil je adviseren het alleen te gebruiken in een openbare omgevind als je goed bent in PHP en phpBB. Gedurende de beta testperiode is er gelimiteerde ondersteuning (gefocust aan bugs oplossen) op Icy Phoenix.

Als je een bestaande website wilt updaten met deze release, je moet dan weten dat de final release geen update instructies bevat vanaf deze beta, Je bent gewaarschuwd... :wink:

  • Icy Phoenix has its own setup procedure which is guiding the user trough the steps of the setup process. An upgrading file is provided to upgrade the package from standard phpBB and phpBB XS. Hopefully an upgrade procedure from any platform will be written in the future.
  • Does Icy Phoenix have many templates?
  • At the moment only three main templates (but with several multicolor variations) are available, but we are working to create new ones.
  • Is Icy Phoenix multilanguage?
  • English is the main language of Icy Phoenix, but it has been translated into other languages (alphabetical order): Catalan, Dutch, Galego, German, Italian, Serbian, Spanish... and more to come!


At the moment Icy Phoenix is in beta testing phase, what needs to be completed is:
  • Installation procedure testing in all environments
  • Latest UPI2DB integration
  • CTracker 5 testing
  • CMS permission level
  • Ice Template


This beta release is meant for having some flavour of what the Icy Phoenix is going to be, fixing the bugs and maybe obtain some good suggestions to be implemented in the final release... Even if this package is quite stable I would suggest you to install it on live environments only if you are quite good PHP and phpBB. During the beta testing period only a limited support (focused on fixing bugs) will be given on Icy Phoenix.

If you are trying to upgrade your existing sites to this release you should consider that the final release may not contain upgrading instructions from this beta. You have been warned... :wink:
