Upgrade From PhpBB2 + Attachments + FAP To IcyPhoenix

Subject: Upgrade From PhpBB2 + Attachments + FAP To IcyPhoenix
Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer regarding the complete combination I have.

Can a phpbb2 forum + attachments mod + FAP gallery installed be upgraded to icyphoenix 2 with everything being kept?

(everything refers to posts, attachments, gallery photos and comments).

If yes, the procedure is the typical upgrade from phpbb2 described in the readme docs or are any other actions required due to attachments and FAP migration as well?

Thanks in advance..

since icy is based on phpbb , and includes the described mods, i would try to do the following.

install a copy of your phpbb with db and everything else locally on xampp or similar, and try to convert first to IP 1.3.0.53.

check if that works. If it does, then go from that base to IP 2.0

Thanks for the reply. Of course I can try and see if it works, I just asked the question in case anyone had been through this procedure before and therefore knew it already.

If nobody with this experience exists, I guess I will try and let everyone know!

By the way, why do you first propose to install icyphoenix v1 and then upgrade to v2?

I woud try the update directly from the update script... but you should follow exactly the steps.

Can you try on a local copy of your website first?
