Failed Upgrade From XS To Icy Phoenix

Subject: Failed Upgrade From XS To Icy Phoenix
I just uploaded Icy Phoenix over my previous functioning XS installation as instructed, and I'm getting all these errors -

Quote:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_pagestart() in /home/httpd/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/install/update_to_ip.php on line 27

I've checked and double checked all permissions which are correct. It looks like the same problem might be responsible for all the errors.

this is wrong!

...site.com/httpdocs/install/update_to_ip.php on line 27

update_to_ip.php must be on root of your IP! Like:

...site.com/httpdocs/update_to_ip.php on line 27

make more attention! 8)

mmm..

first time you must update the db (with update_to_ip.php) and AFTER you can upload the files....(1)

if you upload the files BEFORE update the DB, you can have this kind of error...(2)

what do you do? (1) or (2) procedure? (sorry for my bad english....)

Subject: Re: Failed Upgrade From XS To Icy Phoenix
I uploaded the files first. Can I go back and upload the files again, or do I have to restore everything from my backup and start over?

Subject: Re: Failed Upgrade From XS To Icy Phoenix
yes, you can upload only old files now ;) and try again to lunch updato_to_ip.php!

Subject: Re: Failed Upgrade From XS To Icy Phoenix
I have re-installed my backup files, done all the CHMODs, renamed the install folder. Now when I try to run the script, it defaults to /mysite/install/install.php no matter what I try. Of course the install.php file no longer exists and I get a file not found error.
