SOLVED How To Change Subject Max Char

dellmanx Joined: December 2008 Posts: 32	How To Change Subject Max Char I have a forum in Icy Phoenix 1.2.0.27c and i have increase the topic title to 255 char but the subject they have the default value. How can i increase that to show it correctly? thanks in advance

You can probably give this a try, but please make sure you keep a backup of each file just in case!

OPEN: ip_root/templates/your_theme/posting_body.tpl

FIND:

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]

IN-LINE, FIND:

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]

maxlength="60"

REPLACE 60 with how many characters you wish the subject line to allow.

I'm not sure if you'll need to alter a table in your database, so give this a try and see if it works. If it doesn't, you'll most likely need to alter a table in your database. Unfortunately, I'm not that great with editing tables in databases, so someone else might be able to help us with that.

I was told you'll need to alter a table in your database for these changes to really take effect. That may fix your problem with the news block, but I'm not sure if it'll fix the problem with another language. I don't see how the Greek language would work differently than the English language in that case either, LOL.

Since I'm no pro when it comes to databases, you should wait for someone that knows what they are doing to help you alter tables.
