Post FAP SUPPORT - Problem Uploading Pictures: Bad Upload

Hi there,

I'm facing a problem with upload function with FAP, I've tried several things so I hope one of you can help me.

So, I've copied every php files from the archive and modified phpbb php files as mentionned in the install note. So I have the configuration menu within my phpbb config panel. Also, FAP db are created inside my sqldb.

I've created categories within the config panel to class my wow screenshots and have set the permissions to moderator for my group. Everything is ok, I find my categories, go within and click on the upload link, but the function of uploading pictures is not working, I've got always the same error message and I cannot find any reference how to fix it.

Here is the error message:

upload1

upload2

I check the dates of my files and folder present on the server, but I cannot find any modified files or folders corresponding with the created categories I've created above !

Can someone help me to fix that problem ? I can use OTF Gallery to show my guildies screenshots but I'd rather prefer that they send directly their pictures to the right categories, make me spare a lot of time

Thank you !

Do you get the same error when uploading .jpg and .gif files ?

Do you know what version of php is used by your server ?

What version FAP ?

Yes Artie, the same error with .jpg, .gif and .png, all tried with different sizes.

The php version of my web host is 5.2.4

And finally the version of FAP is 1.4.1

I tries also to enable nuffload, by creating ./cgi-bin/tmp etc.... following the procedure. When I click upload I see a popup window with a progress upload bar, it stay for 2-3 seconds without progressing and then disappear letting a white empty window.

An other information is I also do not find the pic in the folder /album_mod/upload/, in the two methods. I checked the permissions chmod on the folders and they are all complying with the procedure.

I think it would not help you so much but the error message occurs in the file album_upload.php on line 470 (in IcyPhoenix).

In line 470 the code says.

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
    if( !isset($HTTP_POST_FILES['pic_file']) )
    {
        message_die(GENERAL_ERROR, $lang['Bad_upload']);
    }

Maybe a Programmer can help you !?

I really don't have a clue. Is it a mean to check this, 'cause in the web control panel of my webhost I cannot find any informations, and they've never answer any of my mails   (free webhost).

Go to your Profile page and try to upload an avatar .... if you can not then your server probably does not allow file uploads.

I found something interessant. I'm actually in Linux Training, using the Debian release and Konqueror as web browser. And guess what ? It works perfectly ! I can upload files to my webserver, I receive no more error messages.

Then I try to install Mozilla-Firefox, linux compatible, and it appear not to work, got the same problems than before ! Tried again with internet explorer 6 sp2 and did the same error.

So it seems that maybe this problem is linked to the internet browser, or maybe the security options of this browser, or maybe one setting inside the php files that I've to modify.

I hope it will help you to help me

I am getting the same error when I try to upload using Firefox, have tried both FF2 & FF3 with both admin and regular user. Tried with IE and no problems, uploaded fine. No problems using the OTF. Just cant upload images with FF. Everything was working fine until about a week ago.

Any suggestions to where I should look for possible reasons for this.
