Icy Phoenix

Hello everyone,

The members of my forum board (176 members) are requesting for a Chat Room and Instant Messaging system. The shout box does not work for us.

I've looked around at the various flash chat rooms etc and thought I would ask if anyone has had any experience with adding these items to Icy.

We would need a system that would integrate with Icy's mysql database so that, the permissions, user names etc will be recognized and each group would have their own room so they can discuss and work together on things.

Is this possible?

Is there such a thing out there?

About your ChatRoom request, you can go in your ACP, enable AJAX Features and enjoy it.

About your Instant Messaging request *m* I already saw some mods for phpBB 2/3 around it, you maybe should take a look here and see for an adaptation of one of these mod.

or you can use flash chat.. though at present the bridge between flashchat and icy phoenix is not working 100% something I am try to work on and be able to release to the community here...

flash chat can be found at www.tufat.com look for flash chat.. it cost with lifetime upgrades... there is also a messaging system where 2 people can chat privately if they are in the chat room..

I have looked at "flash chat" and it appears to be basically what we are looking for. I have also looked at Ajax Chat (phpbb3) and AjaxIM both of these look good.

From what I have seen from your posts, if anyone can do this it would be you so, I am keeping my fingers crossed for your success.

Let me rephrase this.

The shout box works fine and there is no problem with the shout box. The shout box is not what we want. Our user want to have a Chat Room and IM system not just a shout box.
